The Central Islip Chapter of the National Honor Society Annual Induction Ceremony was conducted on April 24 in the Main Auditorium of the Central Islip High School. Honor Society President Ricardo Vallejo delivered a welcome address which was followed by a performance by the Central Islip High School Concert Choir under the direction of Mr. John Anthony. Addressing the characteristics of Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Character were Honor Society officers Jodhel Destina, Eugenia Rodriguez, Julie Bonilla and Anthonyne Metelus. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Howard M. Koenig delivered his keynote address to current and newly-inducted members of the Honor Society and their families, faculty and staff. Central Islip High School Principal Brett MacMonigle presented the new honorees as Miss Metelus recited the roll call. Music Teacher Mr. George McKenzie accompanied student musicians Chris Benitez (bass), Jose Rojas (guitar), Keylee Fong (drums) and Elena Bimbiloska (soprano vocalist) as guests were entering the auditorium. Current National Honor Society Members Ricardo Vallejo, Eugenia Rodriguez, Anthonyne Metelus, Julie Bonilla, Jodhel Destina, Alexandrea Harriott, Valerie Belizaire, Megan Doyle, Jeffrey Garzon, Jose Godinez, Tatiana Granados, Eric Miller and Osamudiamen Oriakhi welcomed the new Honor Society Members: Ashley Amaya, Andrea Cano, Selina DeSouza, Nathaly Diaz, Jennifer Donis, Elian Esoto, Elsa Flores, Kelly Kwamel, Ian LeSassier, Natalie Hernandez, Ruby Ghuman, Sana Qureshi, Anahi Sanchez, Sarah Schneider, Imani Foulkes, Steffany Lopez, Kareen Mondesir, Kianna Paul, Adrianna Saloman, Arena Vasquez, Brianna Waite and Yu (Kevin) Zu. Congratulations to the members of the Central Islip Chapter of the National Honor Society and their advisor, Ms. Amy Pang.
