Eighth grade students from Mulligan Middle School celebrated their Moving Up and Awards Ceremony on June 22. Principal Dr. Tracy Hudson welcomed guests, delivered a special message to the students, then presented Central Islip High School Principal Brett MacMonigle who shared with students four exciting years which they have to look ahead to as they enter high school. School Board Vice President Michele Harriott imparted words of wisdom and Superintendent of Schools Dr. Howard M. Koenig offered special remarks and acknowledged Mulligan Middle School's faculty and staff, as well as families of the students. Reflecting upon accomplishments and attaining future goals, National Junior Honor Society President Jessica Iqbal addressed her peers, then Mulligan Middle School Assistant Principal Donald Bahr addressed the students before officiating over the awards presentations. Special award presentations were given to new retirees Ms. Mejia and Ms. Garcia-Gordon, then Dr. Hudson presented certificates to students, marking their official "moving up" to high school. Congratulations to all of Mulligan's students for successfully completing eighth grade as they prepare to advance up the academic ladder and continuing to build upon their character.
